Creating Advancement Through STEM (CATS) Camp

This program has been cancelled for 2019. Please contact Micaha Dean Hughes at micahardean@uky.edu with questions.

As part of our ongoing commitment to strengthen the University of Kentucky College of Engineering through initiatives that promote diversity and inclusion we are proud to announce our first residential camp specifically for underrepresented minority students, the Creating Advancement Through STEM (CATS) Camp.

In addition to hands-on engineering projects and laboratory tours, CATS Camp participants will enjoy recreational and social activities that reflect the diverse undergraduate student experience in UK Engineering. Further, campers and parents will receive information on admission, financial aid and more.

CATS Camp will take place July 12-14, 2019. Students entering grades 10-12 in fall 2019 are eligible to register. All campers are expected to commit to the entire week of the program and should have no other obligations during the three days.

We’re looking for the next generation of engineering leaders. Join us for CATS Camp and see where your STEM interest can take you!

The cost to attend CATS Camp is $300. This cost includes room and board in a University of Kentucky residence hall, instructional programs, food, and all activities during the camp. Everything needed in a regular day is provided in the registration fee. No fee is required at the time of application. Once accepted to the program, the camp fees may be paid in installments or in two payments. A limited number of need-based scholarships are available to accepted campers, and applicants will be notified of their status on a rolling basis.
