Two CS Students Win Top Poster Awards at Commonwealth Computational Summit

As a part of the prize, Vijay Shah and Atieh Khamesi will be awarded a travel grant to attend the 2018 National Supercomputing Conference (SC'18) in Dallas, Texas.

Two of assistant professor Simone Silvestri's students, Vijay Shah (Ph.D. student) and Atieh Khamesi (post-doctoral scholar), and members of Cyber-physical Systems laboratory in the UK Department of Computer Science were selected as the recipients of top two poster awards at the Second Annual Commonwealth Computational Summit (CCS2) Poster Competition. As a part of the prize, both Vijay and Atieh will be awarded a travel grant to attend the 2018 National Supercomputing Conference (SC'18) in Dallas, Texas. 

"I am very excited that my first challenge at the University of Kentucky won my first experience of attending the National Supercomputing Conference in Dallas, Texas in November," said Atieh. "Big shoutout to our research team and Dr. Silvestri for their unwavering support and I look forward to more success with this amazing group."
