K'Lynn King and Tracy Drain Win Lyman T. Johnson Awards

The program honors and celebrates African American students and alumni from each college who epitomize the ideals of Lyman T. Johnson.

Chemical engineering senior K’Lynn King and alumna Tracy Drain (BSME 1998) were honored at the 30th annual Lyman T. Johnson Torch Bearer and Torch of Excellence awards held via Facebook Live on February 1. The program honors and celebrates African American students and alumni from each college who epitomize the ideals of Lyman T. Johnson.

King, who is president of the UK chapters of the National Society of Black Engineers, received the Lyman T. Johnson Torch Bearer Award. Drain, a flight systems engineer at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, received the Lyman T. Johnson Torch of Excellence Award.
