Engineering Students Compete in Collegiate Clay Target Championship in San Antonio

The team placed 19th among the 49 schools that competed. Several UK Engineering students participated in the competition.

The University of Kentucky Shotgun Team competed in the Collegiate Clay Target Championship held at the National Shooting Complex in San Antonio, Texas, on March 25-27, 2021. The team placed 19th among the 49 schools that competed.

Several UK Engineering students participated in the competition. They are:

  • Austin Harrod – Mechanical Engineering  
  • Ben Shelley – Civil Engineering
  • Collyn Miller – Mechanical Engineering
  • David Linkh – Computer Engineering  
  • Leighanne Lyvers – Biomedical Engineering
  • Logan Perdue – Civil Engineering
  • Tucker Overton – Computer science

Perdue, a freshman, placed first in Trap and second in Skeet. Shelley, a senior, placed third in Skeet

“Being able to travel and compete in person really means a lot to the team,” said Shelley, who is president of the UK Shotgun Team. “We have put in a lot of work during this not-so-typical year.”
