Spring 2019 Engineering and Computer Science Career Fair
Feb. 19, 2019, noon to 4 pm (VIPs enter at 11:30 am)
The Spring Engineering and Computer Science Fair will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 19,2019 from noon to 4 pm at the new Bill Gatton Student Center. Students who have completed our the VIP program before the fair can enter as early as 11:30 am. The VIP program requirements are posted above. Once you are a VIP, you will be a VIP throughout your time at the University of Kentucky. Spring College of Engineering Co-op and Internship Fair, March 22, 2019
Join 44 engineering employers seeking students for internships or co-ops on friday, March 22, 10:00 am - 1:00 pm in the Hilary J. Boone Center on campus. View the Co-op and Internship Fair Employer registrations in Handshake starting in January. You can also do your research on the event app Career Fair Plus (available for free for Android and iOS) starting in February.

Our Association of Computing Machinery and our Association of Computer Machinery- Women's Chapter are planning a networking fair for Computer Science employers and students. Once more information is available, it will be posted here.
Career Fair Prep and Networking Events
Engineering Resume Review/Interview Drop Ins - every Tue. 1-4 pm and Wed. 2-5 pm
Drop ins are for quick 10-15 min meetings for help with your resume, letter writing, interviewing or searching for a job or internship opportunity. During the semester, you can stop by every Tuesday 1:00-4:00pm & Wednesday 2:00-5:00pm in the Career Development offices in the James & Gay Hardymon Center for Student Success, 3rd Floor FPAT. We are also available for appointments, which you can schedule via Handshake.
Career Connections - February 1, 2019 -
Resumé Reviews and Mock Interviews between 10 am and 2 pm, Networking Practice 2:30 to 4 pm
Sign up for a resume review and/or a mock interview with an Engineering employer through Handshake's Interview section from January 16 to January 25. The Career Connections event will take place on Feb. 1 between 10 am and 2 pm. This event can be counted as a VIP resume review requirement. To sign up, click in your handshake home page on "Jobs" and then "On-campus Interviews" and the Career Connections time spots should be listed. This year, employers have also volunteered to stay for a networking practice event from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm. Pre-registration for this even will be available through Handshake from January 16-25.

LinkedIn Profile Review Day, February 8, 2019 from 10 am to 2 pm
Register to have your LinkedIn profile reviewed by an employer partner during a 30 minute session and receive feedback. Registration opens in Handshake from Monday, Jan. 28 – Monday, Feb. 4.
The LinkedIn review meeting time slots will be posted as "interviews" in Handshake, and you will apply for the position the interview lists and then sign up for an interview slot. Career Fair Prep Workshops
Learn how to research employers, prepare for the fair, and get the most out of attending the career fair by joining one of the 45-minute Career Fair Prep workshops offered by Engineering Career Development (taking place in FPAT 354) and the Graham Center for Career Management in the Gatton College of Business (taking place in B&E). All seminars are identical, regardless of where they are offered.
Students who attend a session below and complete other VIP Program Requirements will gain admission to the Engineering and Computer Science Career Fair 30 minutes before the official start time. The Carer Fair prep schedule will be announced at the end of the fall semester.

College of Engineering VIP Program
To become a career fair VIP, you must complete a few career fair preparatory tasks.
- Pick up a VIP card from Engineering Career Development in 355 FPAT.
- Log in and activate your Handshake account (uky.joinhandshake.com) - use your link blue ID and password - DO NOT CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT! Update and upload your resume to Handshake.
- Attend one 45-minute Career Fair Prep workshop (dates listed above) - collect a signature from the workshop presenter on your VIP card
- Resumé Critique:
- Participate in Career Connections on Feb. 1 between 10:00am - 4:00pm on the 3rd floor of FPAT. Pre-registration/sign up is required through Handshake OR
- Have an on-campus career professional critique your resumé during drop ins or in a one-on-one appointment.
- Complete two of the following six options:

Return the completed VIP cards to John Beck, 355F F. Paul Anderson Tower by Thursday, Feb. 14 before 5 pm. You will be able to pick up your VIP name tag on Monday, Feb. 18 outside 355K F. Paul Anderson Tower (Melissa Brown's office) or at the career fair's VIP registration table.
