Dr. Muhao Chen is an Assistant professor at the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, University of Kentucky. Before that, He was a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at Texas A&M University, College Station, TX. He got his Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from Texas A&M University in May 2021 and his BS and MS from the Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2013 and 2016, respectively. He had work experience at National Instruments (2013- 1014). He won National Scholarship for Graduates in 2015. He was twice awarded TAMU AERO Graduate Excellence Fellowship Award. His research has received much public recognition from The Wall Street Journal, Voice of America (VOA), and Physics.org. He holds membership in AIAA, IEEE, ASCE, ACM, and IASS. He seeks to develop new analytical tools to merge structure and control design with the minimal amount of resources required. His research focuses on tensegrity, integrating structure and control design, controls, and system design for lightweight automated deployable space systems.
