About Engineering Technology

The Fujio Cho Department of Engineering Technology offers two four-year undergraduate degrees: Lean Systems Engineering Technology and Computer Engineering Technology.

Both degree programs are structured in a two-plus-two format, meaning that the University of Kentucky provides only junior and senior-level coursework. Graduates of these programs will be trained in the latest technologies and equipped with practical skills and hands-on experience essential for success in advanced technology industries. Students will benefit from an integrated education that includes a unique technology pathway featuring extensive participation in industrial practicums.

2+2 Format Two Educational Pathways

The Fujio Cho Department of Engineering Technology offers two educational pathways: a Bachelor of Science in Lean Systems Engineering Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering Technology. Both programs are structured in a two-plus-two format. Allowing students to earn an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree from a designated Kentucky Community and Technical College Systems school during the first two year. After completing the AAS degree during the final two-year period, students will work toward completing their Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Kentucky.

KCTCS

2 years at KCTCS allowing students to earn an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree from a designated Kentucky Community and Technical College Systems school.

UK

2 years at UK. After completing the AAS degree, students can pursue their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree at the University of Kentucky over the following two years.

B.S. Lean Systems Engineering Technology

Lean Systems Engineering Technologists work in many engineering roles, including lean continuous improvement engineers, lean manufacturing engineers, lean process improvement engineers, supplier quality engineers, lean manufacturing specialists, and quality engineers.

B.S. Computer Engineering Technology
