The Department of Mining Engineering offers an ABET-accredited undergraduate program on the Lexington, Kentucky campus.
Students receive a thorough, multi-faceted education built upon the foundations of calculus, physics and chemistry, but which later exposes them to:

- Geo-technical engineering
- Surface mining engineering
