Marek Delivers Last Lecture

Professor Victor W. Marek, who will retire this summer, delivered a "last lecture" to students, faculty and friends from inside and outside the Department of Computer Science on April 12. Marek's lecture traced the people and changes that influenced his life and career. 

Marek earned his advanced degrees from Warsaw University in Warszawa, Poland, and joined the faculty at the University of Kentucky in 1984. An expert on logical foundation of artifical intelligence and the design of databases and knowledge bases, Marek and two collaborators produced the world's largest mathematical proof in 2016.
