The F. Joseph Halcomb III , M.D. Department of Biomedical Engineering ( BME ) in the College of Engineering at the University of Kentucky invites applications for up to two tenure-track faculty positions at the level of assistant, associate or full professor, with an anticipated start date of January 1, 2019. The successful candidates will join a team of growing faculty and engage in vigorous research that applies engineering principles to solve healthcare challenges in an area that complements current faculty expertise in the department, including (i) biomaterials/tissue engineering, (ii) biomechanics, (iii) biosensors, (iv) bioimaging, (v) cardiovascular control, and (vi) neural engineering.
Applicants with an earned Ph.D. degree in an Engineering discipline with evidence of excellence in research and dedication to teaching and mentoring are strongly encouraged to apply. The successful applicants will be expected to develop and maintain a strong externally funded, globally recognized research program, and actively participate in the teaching and service missions of the University.
