Sekulic Receives Award, Has Book Translated into Mandarin

Dusan Sekulic, Secat J. G. Morris Aluminum Professor in the University of Kentucky Department of Mechanical Engineering, was part of the team awarded a "Robert L. Peaslee Award" by the American Welding Society (AWS).

Dusan Sekulic, Secat J. G. Morris Aluminum Professor in the University of Kentucky Department of Mechanical Engineering, was part of the team awarded a "Robert L. Peaslee Award" by the American Welding Society (AWS). The award recognizes the paper considered the best contribution to the science or technology of brazing published in the AWS Welding Journal during previous calendar year. Sekulic was the lead author of the paper "Microstructure refining of a Mo-Ni Brazing Filler by Nanoparticle Doping." Other authors on the paper include H. Fu, D. Busbaher, A. Rabinkin, E. Leone and T. Preuss.

In addition, Sekulic’s book "Advances in Brazing: Science, Technology and Applications," published in 2013, has been translated into Mandarin and published by Elsevier in Singapore and China Machine Press. This is the second book of Sekulic has had translated into Chinese. Sekulic is appointed as a Foreign Expert Chair Professor at the Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin, China.

In other news, Sekulic’s NASA-sponsored multi-year research project "Brazing Aluminum in Space," has been joined by the Russian Space Agency "Roscosmos" team from the Udmurt State University, Russia.
