Meet New BME Student Advisor Katie Robertson

Katie earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Asbury University and obtained her master’s degree in professional counseling from Richmont Graduate University.

Katie Robertson has joined the College of Engineering as the new student advisor for the F. Joseph Halcomb III, M.D. Depart of Biomedical Engineering. She is originally from Pikeville, Kentucky, but has lived in the metro-Atlanta area for the past eight and a half years.

Katie earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Asbury University and obtained her master’s degree in professional counseling from Richmont Graduate University. Before coming to UK, Katie worked for two years as a student success advisor at the Savannah College of Art and Design (Atlanta campus) and four years as an academic advisor in the College of Business at Kennesaw State University.  

In her new role as the BME student advisor, Katie is eager to bring her prior experience to bear to work with BME students and guide them on academic-related matters as well as their career development matters.  

Katie has a passion for working with students and working collaboratively to help them reach their goals.  

Katie has two young children and is excited to be back in her home state of Kentucky so that they can grow up around family. In her free time, she loves to hang out with her family and her two dogs (Oswald and Remington), cook, hike and watch documentaries. Katie can be reached at katie.robertson1@uky.edu.
