Jared Payne, a graduate student in the Department of Computer Science, is the 2021 winner of the Outstanding Master's Student Award.
Payne’s research in software has resulted in six archival publications—most of which have been published in the top venues of his research area. He is currently working on three projects developed through Requirements Engineering (RE) Cares, which gives back by specifying and developing a prototype of a software application needed by a stakeholder that is positively impacting society. Additionally, Payne has mentored six undergraduate students and one high school student in the lab. He is advised by Professor Jane Hayes.
