Michael Kalinski elected President-Elect of the Environmental and Engineering Geophysical Society

Michael Kalinski, professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, has been elected as President-Elect of the Environmental and Engineering Geophysical Society (EEGS). 

The mission of the EEGS is to promote the science of geophysics especially as it is applied to environmental and engineering problems; to foster common scientific interests of geophysicists and their colleagues in other related sciences and engineering; to maintain a high professional standing among its members; and to promote fellowship and cooperation among persons interested in the science.

“I am honored and humbled for this opportunity to lead our society into the future,” said Kalinski. “My goal is to promote collaboration with other professional societies and broaden participation in EEGS events through hybrid technologies and outreach to students and young professionals.

Kalinski will spend one year on the EEGS Board of Directors as President-Elect, followed by one year as President and one year as Past-President.
