Sarah Khammas Lami, a doctoral student in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, won the “Best Overall Poster Award” at the 62nd International Conference on Electron, Ion, and Photon Beam Technology and Fabrication, held May 28 – June 1, 2018 in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. Lami won in the unrestricted category. Her achievement is even more impressive given that the conference only dispenses awards in three categories.

The presentation was entitled “Process condition dependence of liquid-phase focused electron beam induced etching of copper.” ECE graduate student Gabe Smith, former Lexington, Kentucky high school student and current undergraduate at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Eric Cao and Reese S. Terry Professor in Electrical Engineering J. Todd Hastings were co-authors.
