Nabil Al Aamery, a doctoral student in the Department of Civil Engineering, has received a 2020 College of Engineering Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award.
Al Aamery’s primary TA assignment for his time at UK was CE-341 Introduction to Fluid Mechanics. This is a required course in the undergraduate civil engineering program. Al Aamery’s duties with this class included lead instruction in the laboratory component of the class, development of course assignments and course grading.
Student comments have been positive about Al Aamery’s work with the class. One example from fall 2019: “Nabil was easy to meet with and willing to assist with questions and work through the students understanding.”
As a testament to the student’s appreciation of Al Aamery’s work as a TA, he was recently voted by the students to receive the 2019-2020 Department of Civil Engineering Outstanding TA Award.
