UK celebrates opening of engineering lab designed to advance US manufacturing
On May 29, the University of Kentucky’s Stanley and Karen Pigman College of Engineering held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the Next Generation Additive Manufacturing Research Laboratory (NextGen AMRL), the newest addition to the Institute for Sustainable Manufacturing (ISM).

Schoop received the award for his project titled “CAREER: Thermomechanical Response and Fatigue Performance of Surface Layers Engineered by Finish Machining: In-situ Characterization and Digital Process Twin” The project will award $507,288 over five years.
