These merit-based scholarships range from $2,000 to $3,000 yearly. Students may also be granted an additional $2,000 for use on a Power and Energy related study abroad trip during the school year or the following summer. Many E.On scholarships have been awarded in recent years: 24 in 2018, 16 in 2019, and also 16 in 2020. These annual scholarships continue to be supported by an endowment established years ago at UK by E.ON, on behalf of Kentucky Utilities.
Eligible students will be Juniors or Seniors (or will be a Junior in the Fall) for the year the scholarship is paid out, have at least a 3.0 GPA, have already applied for the PEIK Certificate, have taken power and energy classes and are actively working towards the certificate.

Be sure to answer YES to the question regarding PEIK, if indeed you have already applied for the PEIK certificate and submit your course plan for taking the required classes with the application. Students are encouraged to include a letter of recommendation from PEIK faculty with their application. Students applying for the PEIK scholarship may also be considered for other merit and/or need-based College of Engineering Scholarships by completing an application.
The deadline to apply is typically in April/May for the following year.
