The DB Challenge

Dibakar Bhattacharyya (affectionately known as “DB”) is a beloved Pigman College of Engineering faculty member. DB began his teaching career at UK in 1973. Throughout his tenure, he has educated and mentored hundreds of students who have gone on to make significant contributions to the field of chemical engineering. Now, it is time to express appreciation for the man that helped build the foundation of so many successful chemical engineers! Help us raise $1M to name a classroom in the renovated Funkhouser Building in honor of DB!

Donors who give at least $10K (payable over a maximum of 5 years) will have their name added to “DB’s Honor Roll” to be proudly displayed inside DB’s named classroom. In addition, every donor to the Honoring DB Fundraising Challenge (regardless of amount) can sign their name to a printed honor book and include a short entry about the influence DB had on their lives, a special quote, a favorite classroom memory, a photo of themselves with DB, or other related memorabilia. Help us honor the man who has done so much.
