The Water Professionals student chapter at the University of Kentucky holds meetings and events throughout the academic year for the combined AWWA/WEA student chapter and the EWRI student chapter. If you are interested in the fields of sustainability and water resources engineering, a career in the water or wastewater industries, the water resources profession or environmental engineering and related professions, the student chapter could be a great opportunity to meet other students and the local water professionals. The specific objectives of this chapter shall be to promote the common professional interests of its members and to further the purposes of the chapter through not-for-profit activities including, but not limited to, education, training, meetings and philanthropic work. In general, any number of activities that will promote the talent of the young professionals who will influence the future of the water industry.
Combined AWWA/WEA student chapter branched under the Kentucky Tennessee sections of AWWA/WEA. Our organization is dedicated to helping students approach the water industry and promote the common professional interests of its members and to further the purposes of the chapter through not-for-profit activities.
The objective of the EWRI UKY graduate student chapter shall be to promote the common professional interests of its members, aid students to get access to the regional network of civil and environmental engineering professional network, develop professional skills, encourage interdisciplinary academic backgrounds in the fields of sustainability and water resources engineering and further the purposes of the EWRI through not-for-profit activities.
The Environmental & Water Resources Institute is ASCE’s technical source for environmental and water-related issues. EWRI is one of eight ASCE technical institutes.
Students who are working full or part-time toward a graduate degree at the University of Kentucky, are in good standing with the university, and are interested in environmental engineering, water resources or related professions.
