Fellow young alumni, the College of Engineering helped pave the path for success in our careers and now, the Young Alumni Philanthropy Council (YAPCO) unlocks a unique opportunity to guide us through this next phase of life where we can give back to the College and the next generation of leaders. Joining the Council provides an excellent avenue for remaining connected with the College, including opportunities to engage with faculty and staff, current and potential students, the top alumni leaders on the Dean’s Advisory Council, and other young engineering professionals. There has never been a better way to give back to the College of Engineering!
What is the Young Alumni Philanthropy Council? The purpose of this Council is to assist in the fulfillment of the mission of the College of Engineering Office of Alumni & Philanthropy. Their mission is to inspire supporters to create a world that works by providing life-changing opportunities for future generations.
Am I eligible to join? How can I get involved? This Council is open to any engineering alum, with an emphasis on those graduating within the last 20 years (2024). There are no term limits; however, individuals must re-apply each year.
What are the expectations of Council members? To be considered an active member of the Council, you must donate a minimum of $1,050 to the UK Pigman College of Engineering each year that you serve. This donation can be paid in installments. All donations will be pooled and Council members will vote on what the funding supports each year. Please note that a portion of your gift may be endowed. Additionally, you may choose to serve as an Alumni Mentor to current students. Finally, you must attend at least one of two meetings on campus per academic year.
