We place a high emphasis on cultivating a vibrant community in the Pigman College of Engineering. Pigman Hall currently houses nearly 600 students and is the largest living learning program on campus. Our student organizations now number over 40, many of which are engaged in outreach programs that promote STEM education to elementary, middle and high school students. Not only do we provide the academic rigor that will prepare you for a high-paying, deeply-rewarding job, we'll help you find it! The engineering Career and Co-Op Center will assist you with resume reviews and mock interview. Our staff can connect you with employers so you can gain real-world experience while you're still in school. Plus, each fall and spring, we host a career fair that brings over 100 employers to campus to interview you for coop and full-time positions. Yes, we want you to succeed academically, but we also want you to graduate with a fantastic job already secured.
Our faculty partners with students to achieve groundbreaking results in their field. Currently, the college has $48 million in active research awards among its investigators. In the next five years, we intend to raise that number to $80 million through faculty growth and strategic research clusters that will advance the college, the Commonwealth of Kentucky and society.
