The process of registering for classes is performed online through myUK. To find upcoming registration windows please check the Registrar's website.
The Link Blue ID and Password must be used to access most University resources, including email, course registration, library databases, and online classroom tools such as Canvas or Blackboard. More information about activating and using your Link Blue account can be found at newstudent.uky.edu.
As a student at the University of Kentucky you can choose to activate either the UK-affiliated Gmail or Office 365 email services. Email accounts can be activated through the Account Manager tab using the Link Blue ID.
For the online degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Canvas (very similar to Blackboard, if you have used it before) will be used as the Learning Management System (LMS). This is the primary tool that you will use to navigate your courses online. Entering Canvas will require your Link Blue ID and password.
After registering for courses through myuk, you can log in to Canvas (uk.instructure.com) to see a list of those courses. The course contents, however, will not be accessible until the Professor has published the material. When the material is published for a course, you will receive an email invitation from that Professor to access the material.
Access to a scanner for homework submissions is required. Webcam and microphone are recommended for online interactions. Find additional information regarding Distance Learning Library Services on the DLLS website.
You can also contact Carla Cantagallo, DL Librarian through phone 859-257-0500 ext. 2171 or long-distance phone number: 800-828-0439 or email dllservice@email.uky.edu.
For many courses, access to the University of Kentucky (UK) library resources will be required. These resources can be accessed when outside the UK network by using your Link Blue ID and Password. This will provide access to peer-reviewed journal articles and publications needed for academic research, as well as e-books.
Resources not available through the UK library may be requested through the Interlibrary Loan Service.
