Fellow young alumni, the Pigman College of Engineering helped pave the path for success in our careers and now, the Young Alumni Philanthropy Council (YAPCO) unlocks a unique opportunity to guide us through this next phase of life where we can directly give back to the College and the next generation of leaders. Joining the Council provides an excellent avenue for remaining connected with the College, including opportunities to engage with faculty and staff, current and potential students, the top alumni leaders on the Dean’s Advisory Council, and other young engineering professionals. There has never been a better way to give back to the Pigman College of Engineering!

What is the Young Alumni Philanthropy Council?

Join fellow young alumni in making a difference at the Pigman College of Engineering, all while building your professional network.

The Young Alumni Philanthropy Council (YAPCO) assists in the fulfillment of the mission of the college. To inspire supporters to create a world that works by providing life-changing opportunities for future generations.

By joining YAPCO, you will connect with the College's top leaders including faculty, members of the Dean's Advisory Council, alumni, industry partners, and the next generation of leaders, our students. You will get the opportunity to mentor students, serve as an ambassador of the college, and network with other engineering professionals.

There has never been a better way to give back to the Pigman College of Engineering.

Can I join?

YAPCO is open to any Pigman College of Engineering alum, with an emphasis on those graduating in the last 20 years (2025). There are no term limits; however, individuals must re-apply each year.

What are the requirements?
  • Complete the application by August 1.
  • Accepted members must donate at minimum of $1,050 to the College during their year of membership. This donation can be paid in installments.
    • All member donations will be pooled and the council will vote on what the funding supports each year. Funding opportunities include scholarships, student organizations, and other college initiatives.
  • Be an ambassador for the college. Help promote the college's educational opportunities and research to your constituents.
  • Attend at least one of two meetings on campus per year.
Why should I join?

"YAPCO members are passionate about ensuring the next generation of students have the same, if not better, experience than their won. Through our contributions, many engineering student organizations have been able to meet and exceed their fundraising goals; using those resources to achieve amazing things. Being able to connect with fellow alumni across the engineering spectrum is absolutely invaluable. You wont' want to miss out on this opportunity. Come join us!"

Austin Mitchell - Chairman 2024-2025

"YAPCO has allowed me to stay invovled and provide valuable feedback to the college and Dean's Advisory Council. Being invovled has provided me unique insights into the college and the council is able to make meaningful contributions to student organizations. UK shaped the trajectory of my career and it's important for me to give back and support the growth of future students and career professionals."
