A relationship with the UK Pigman College of Engineering is a partnership with the Commonwealth’s flagship engineering school. Your business will benefit by having access to renowned researchers, experts in their disciplines, who will work with you to solve your company’s more pressing technical problems, specialized equipment and facilities not available elsewhere, and a pool of talented students to fill co-op, intern or permanent employment positions.
Put the power of our research enterprise to work for you. Through Research Focus Areas in human health and safety; energy and infrastructure; materials and manufacturing; national security; and computing, networks and AI, PCoE researchers are strengthening recognized areas of excellence while expanding collaboration across UK to address complex challenges in Kentucky, the nation and the world.
Hire one of our students for a co-op stint or internship for a semester or the summer. Not only will they make contributions during their employment, but you may also discover you want to hire them after they graduate. We invite companies to meet students interested in co-ops or internships at our fall and spring co-op and internship fairs.
Twice a year, the Pigman College’s Career & Co-op Center hosts an Engineering and Computer Science Career Fair and the Civil Engineering Career Expo. Meet hundreds of engineering, computer science, and engineering technology students who are about to enter the workforce and find your next great hire!
Recruit current students for co-ops, internships, and full-time jobs through our bi-annual career fairs or our Recruiter in Residence program. Employers can further engage with students through our G.R.I.P. (Get Resume and Interview Practice) event, through presentations and workshops, and with our student organizations.
Engage with an Engineer is an on-campus speaking engagement where our alumni and industry partners can present to our residents about their career path, work, company while providing insights about what it means to be a professional engineer, engineering technologist, or computer scientist.
The Alumni Mentoring Program matches a current engineering student with a UK engineering graduate from the same major. The mentor and mentee communicate during the academic year. This experience can be in-person or virtual and can cover a variety of topics determined by both mentor and mentee.
The Pigman College of Engineering Capstone Program provides industry and community partners the opportunity to work with student teams in all Pigman College of Engineering degrees on innovative projects. Over one or two semesters (depending on major), teams of 4-6 students lead projects from planning to completion.
Be apart of the largest STEM celebration in Kentucky. E-Day (Engineers Day) welcomes college alumni to volunteer, exhibit with their company, or attend as a guest! Hundreds college supporters come together each year to welcome thousands of guests to explore the Pigman College of Engineering.
The Summer Engineering Exploration Kamp (SEEK) will feature hands-on learning opportunities, guest speakers from engineering companies, and field trips to active project sites for rising high school seniors.
