The Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce held its 85th Annual Dinner and Business Celebration on Jan. 26,  celebrating the achievements of businesses and individuals across the region. Three members of the UK Engineering Paducah Campus were among those celebrated by the community. 

Basil Drossos, chair of the Paducah Engineering Advisory Committee, took home the Citizen of the Year award. Drossos was recognized for his work as chair for the past 14 years and his critical role in funding and developing the maker space at the Paducah campus, in addition to his initiative to create a new degree program for the campus. 

David Denton, a crucial partner in the creation of the UK Engineering Paducah Campus, received the Leadership Paducah Alumnus of the Year award. His successful chairing of the fundraising campaign that raised more than $8.4 million through private donations in Paducah for the construction of the UK Engineering Paducah campus was especially celebrated in this recognition. 

Ben Stinnett, director of recruitment & career development at the Paducah campus was also recognized as a finalist for the Young Leaders of Western Kentucky award.
