Brian Howell is a research engineer in Traffic and Safety at the Kentucky Transportation Center. Mr. Howell has led numerous projects, researched technical and policy issues, and developed reports with detailed findings and conclusions across his 9 years working within the transportation industry. His research focus is on roadside safety hardware, environmental compliance, and policy review. Mr. Howell has worked as a design engineer for an engineering consulting firm and as an auditor with the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO). He continues to serve as a military officer with the U.S. Army Reserves. He is a licensed professional engineer in Kentucky and Texas, and holds a project management professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute. He received a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Civil Engineering and a Master’s of Public Administration, both from the University of Kentucky.
