Research Description

My research focuses on sustainable design for water infrastructure – using tools such as life cycle assessment, life cycle costing, and risk assessment to inform decision-making regarding these complex systems. My group is interested in applications of sustainable design in both technologically advanced and resource-limited settings, with an emphasis on context-specific objectives and constraints. Within civil engineering, I engage in research, teaching, and service that focus on applying sustainable design and engineering principles to pursue meaningful impacts for people and the environment.
