Michael was born and raised in Lexington, KY, so his decision to attend the University of Kentucky was a no-brainer. He elected to study engineering because of his father’s encouragement and in no small part due to the efforts of UKCOE recruiters and ambassadors.

As an engineering student, Michael worked multiple co-ops and internships at Messer Construction. In the summer of 2018, Michael completed a research project studying the effects of Uber and Lyft on public transit ridership under Dr. Greg Erhardt’s supervision, and the findings were widely publicized in national media outlets. After a trip to Nepal and with the help of friends, Michael co-founded Developing Nepal, a non-profit organization that funds educational opportunities for students in rural Nepal.

After graduating from the University of Kentucky, Michael pursued a Masters in Finance at Vanderbilt University and graduated #1 in his class. He is currently working as a healthcare investment banker at SVB Leerink in Charlotte, North Carolina.
