Nathan Jones is from Morehead, Kentucky, and is double majoring in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence with a Mathematics minor. He is a member of the Lewis Honors College under the Scholars in Engineering and Management (SEAM) Pathway.Nathan has completed two software development engineering internships with Amazon in Seattle, Washington. In Summer 2024, he optimized global fulfillment operations by automating warehouse onboarding, reducing onboarding time from days to minutes. In Summer 2025 he developed a Native-AWS dashboard for worldwide fulfillment center logistics. At UK, he develops the software as an undergraduate researcher for drones for the Dept. of Mining Engineering. He also serves as an Engineering Ambassador, Prototyping Guide in the Innovation Center Makerspace, as well as Captain and founder of the AWS Cloud Club.
Outside of academics, Nathan enjoys building personal projects that integrate AI, IoT, and cloud services. He also enjoys photography, playing tennis, and being active in Christian organizations such as CRU. Nathan hopes to pursue a career at the intersection of AI and software engineering, using technology to create innovative solutions with a global impact.
