Valerie Keathley is a Research Associate in the Intelligent Transportation Systems and Traffic Management program. She has been with KTC since 2012. In 2014, Dr. Keathley earned a PhD from the University of Kentucky’s Department of Geography. Her dissertation qualitatively analyzed the lives of long-distance truck drivers and focused on the intersections of labor, mobility, and identity. At KTC, Dr. Keathley’s research interests include the administration of commercial vehicle information networks for enforcing safety and credential requirements for commercial vehicles. She also conducts research on driver and vehicle regulation for state agencies. Dr. Keathley’s responsibilities also include grant writing and project development.
