Yeimy Piña-Perez is an In-State Recruiter for the University of Kentucky Stanley and Karen Pigman College of Engineering. She visits high schools, attends college fairs, and connects with prospective students and families through recruitment events. Her travel territory includes the southeastern, south central, and western parts of Kentucky.Prior to joining UK, Yeimy served as the Associate Director of Outreach and Community Engagement at the University of Louisville J.B. Speed School of Engineering, where she led K-12 outreach programs, developed community partnerships, contributed to strategic planning and proposals, and supported recruitment for first-year, transfer, and international students. She previously served as an Admissions Counselor at Eastern Kentucky University, recruiting students from western Kentucky and out-of-state territories.Originally from Frankfort, Kentucky, Yeimy earned bachelor's degrees in Communication Studies and Spanish from Eastern Kentucky University. As a bilingual, first-generation college graduate, she is passionate about helping students and families navigate higher education and discover new opportunities. Outside of work, Yeimy enjoys hiking, DIY projects, spending time with family, and especially being an aunt and spoiling her nephew!
