LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 27, 2018) - Rudolph G. Buchheit has been selected as the next dean of the University of Kentucky College of Engineering, pending approval by the UK Board of Trustees. Professor Buchheit is associate dean for Academic Affairs and Administration of the College of Engineering at The Ohio State University, an academic unit comprising more than 350 faculty members, 400 staff members, 8,500 undergraduate students and 2,200 graduate students.

Formula Kentucky, the University of Kentucky’s Formula Society of Automotive Engineers Team, competed in the Formula SAE® Michigan competition held at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Michigan, May 10-13. Its appearance marked the second year in a row in which UK has participated in the event. Thirteen team members made the trip.
John Balk, professor of materials engineering in the University of Kentucky College of Engineering, has been named a 2017 SEC (Southeastern Conference) Faculty Achievement Award winner.
Fourteen students from the University of Kentucky College of Engineering traveled to Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) SoutheastCon 2017 in Charlotte, N.C. March 30 – April 2. Students participated in a variety of competitions: hardware competition, software competition, ethics competition, student paper competition, t-shirt design competition and website competition.
