Q&A

What led you to choose the Pigman College of Engineering?

I chose the Pigman College of Engineering because of its strong sense of community and supportive environment. Additionally, it allowed me to stay close to home while pursuing engineering in a strong program.

What does your college experience mean to you?

My college experience has given me valuable opportunities to grow and succeed in my field. The positive experiences I’ve had at UK have played a crucial role in shaping my path, ultimately inspiring me to pursue a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering.

How is the college preparing you for the future?

The Pigman College of Engineering is equipping me with the experiences and resources needed to think critically and work independently. Through my Ph.D. program, I am developing the skills necessary to become a proficient and independent researcher.

How has leading the Biomedical Engineering Society Student Chapter shaped your college experience?

Serving as President of the Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) has given me the opportunity to connect with students across campus and strengthen my leadership skills. Skills that can’t be learned in a classroom I have been able to learn through BMES such as creativity, adaptability and networking. Through BMES, I have helped build a supportive community for students interested in biomedical engineering, both at UK and in our local communities.

Where do you see yourself in 15 years?

In 15 years, I hope to see myself leading a research lab within a pharmaceutical company. My passion is helping people, and I believe that I can best do that in the pharmaceutical industry by engineering new and innovative medicines and drug delivery mechanisms.
