UK Students To Present Research At Conference

Two mechanical engineering students of the University of Kentucky College of Engineering Paducah Campus have been selected to present their research at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research, scheduled for April 6-8 at the University of Memphis.

As an aviation electronics technician in the United States Marine Corps, Matthew Ebert experienced two separate deployments to Iraq and the Persian Gulf. After facing the challenge of serving his country, Ebert says he was ready for a new goal to achieve. That’s why he chose to become a mechanical engineering major in University of Kentucky College of Engineering.

Wenk Chosen for SEC Travel Program

More than 100 faculty members from all 14 Southeastern Conference (SEC) universities will take part in the 2016-17 SEC Faculty Travel Program, the league office announced Oct. 6. Of the more than 100 participants, nine are faculty at the University of Kentucky. The program, in its fifth year, provides support for selected individuals to collaborate with colleagues at other SEC member institutions.

Mechanical Engineering Graduate Student Wins First Prize at International Forest Fire Conference

Jeremiah Fugate, recent graduate of the mechanical engineering master's program at the University of Kentucky, won first prize in the research poster session at the 7th International Conference on Forest Fire Research in Coimbra, Portugal, held Nov. 17-21.

IR4TD Director Wins International Combustion Award

University of Kentucky Director of the Institute of Research for Technology Development (IR4TD) Kozo Saito was awarded the International Prize of CSJ (Combustion Society of Japan) last week in Japan.
