The Manufacturing Systems Engineering (MFS) Program is a multi-disciplinary program which involves faculty from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering as well as the College of Business and Economics exposing MFS students to a broad range of topics from engineering and business relevant to manufacturing.
Students in the MFS program can tailor the selection of technical electives to particular areas of interest including lean manufacturing and sustainable manufacturing.
Students have many opportunities to participate in numerous industry projects with local manufacturing companies to gain first-hand experience in the application of concepts learned in class.
Faculty engaged in the MFS program are world-renowned for their expertise in many areas including: machining, brazing, welding, sustainable manufacturing, lean manufacturing, sustainable supply chains. Students will have the opportunity to interact with these experts and engage in cutting-edge research.
Students in this program are able to earn their degree entirely online or by taking a combination of courses offered online and in the face-to-face mode.
